Statistical Learning for Biology

I am currently interested in the estimation of (complex) dynamical models such as Differential Equations (deterministic for the time being). These models arise in the modeling of biological networks and give a rich framework for understanding the behavior of real biological networks, such as gene regulatory networks, metabolic networks, signaling pathways.

Goal: Develop parameter estimation methods for dynamical systems used in systems biology. Find ways of incorporating various kind of  information (biological knowledge) during estimation.

Biological applications: gene regulatory networks, metabolic networks, signaling pathways.
